Ski Zermatt

If you are planning to ski Zermatt, you will be visiting one of the most famous villages in Switzerland. The Matterhorn was one of the last remaining alpine mountains to be conquered. Zermatt is a starting point for hikes into the mountains. One of these hiking trails is the Haute Route that leads to Chamonix, France. The highest trail leads to the Klein Matterhorn. Because of the locals that ski Zermatt, air pollution is one of their primary concerns. They try to keep air pollution very minimal to maintain the spectacular view of the Matterhorn.

Most tourists that want to ski Zermatt typically take the train from a nearby town. One may also get to Zermatt by a helicopter. Zermatt is recognized throughout the world for its skiing activities. Its high altitude makes it ideal for skiing because of the constant snow covered mountains. The four areas that Zermatt is split into are Sunnegga, Gornergrat, Klein Matterhorn and Schwarzsee.
